International Federation of Postcard Dealers (IFPD)
The International Federation of Postcard Dealers (IFPD) is a U.S.-based dealer trade and vetting organization, originally formed in the 1970s. It was established to bring together postcard dealers who serve collectors and to uphold a defined level of service and standards across the trade.
Membership thrived through the 1980s and 1990s during the boom in postcard collecting. In the new century, the IFPD was carried on by Jim Taylor, a longtime collector and dealer, who traveled across much of the country doing shows and produced a dozen Midwest shows annually. Today the organization continues that tradition, supporting vetted dealers who provide collectors with postcards and related materials for the joy of collecting, historical research, institutional libraries, and the many other reasons people collect postcards.
For Collectors: Membership provides a roster of dealers across the country who are available by direct contact. Collectors looking for specific cards, regional specialties, or trusted sources can reach out to roster members directly, with the assurance that members hold to the organization's standards.
For Dealers: The IFPD offers professional affiliation, vetting, and connection to a national network of fellow dealers and collectors.
Contact: Inquiries about membership, postcards, or general questions can be directed to IFPD President Douglas Wayne via the website.
