The Ephemera Society of America

The Ephemera Society of America

The Ephemera Society of America is a national organization dedicated to the collection, preservation, and study of ephemera - printed and handwritten items originally intended for short-term use, including postcards, trade cards, advertising, photographs, and other paper memorabilia. While broader than postcards alone, the society is a valuable resource for deltiologists given the significant overlap between postcard and ephemera collecting.

The ESA publishes the Ephemera Journal, maintains online exhibits, hosts an annual conference, and keeps a comprehensive events calendar that includes postcard and paper shows across the country. Their website features blog stories, a young scholars program, dealer member directory, and links to related organizations. Membership is open to collectors, dealers, librarians, archivists, and anyone with an interest in paper history.
