The Postcard Motel

The Postcard Motel is a personal collection site run by a lifelong motel-postcard collector who grew up around the tail end of the great American neon-sign era and has made it his mission to preserve that visual history.

The site began years ago as a Blogspot blog, went dormant in 2018, and was revived in mid-2025 - now broadened beyond motels to include diners, main streets, "large letter" cards, political ephemera, and beer-related postcards, though motels and roadside signage remain the core focus.

Every card featured comes directly from the owner's personal collection rather than reposted images, and posts are typically short — one photo per motel or restaurant, often paired with a wry, personal caption about the era or the venue.
